Sullivan and Bilic
Believed there own hype from last year, and now we embarrass ourselves once again in europe. Absolute disgrace.

Re: Sullivan and Bilic
We look a little bit 'billy big bollocks' - brand new ground, new players, big fanfare about how the club is moving forward etc. Reality is we are unprepared and dumped out of Europe before it even gets going.

Yes we have got key players injured, but surely we aren't totally reliant on 3-4 players to be able to beat that lot.

Billic is now going to be looked at by everybody because if he continues to have faith in no hopers like Valencia & Tore over someone like Fletcher then we're going to struggle.

It was always going to be a tough ask to match last years results and yes we played some brilliant football a lot of the time, but we need to sort this out sooner rather than later.

Where is our creative midfielder ie someone like Song? We have a battler and an outlet in Noble, an attacking midfielder in Kayoute, but who is going to put his foot on it and make the killer pass, and, sadly, who is moving down the channels behind the defence, Valencia? FFS..

Ayew being injured is real bad luck, but without a Sahko where is our frontman other than Carroll?

Callieri moves well but is snatching chances a bit but he will score, pair him with Fletcher and see what happens.

Surely Billic is trying these combinations on the training pitch?

Could be that being out of Europe is a blessing in this 1st season, but now we have a large squad with only the prem games to play and the wages need to be paid. Money people, of which The dildo brothers and Brady certainly are, may look to unload assets in January to balance the books..

Here we go..

To be fair we have once again started the new season with a slew of injuries.... Can't lay all the blame on Sullivan and the coaching staff for this.
If Payet, Lanzini, Carroll,Feghouli, Cresswell and Ayew had been available tonight we would have Probably wiped the floor with the Gypo's.

Saying that, if they were available would Billic have chosen them or saved them for Citeh on Sunday? I must admit Bilic has made some odd decisions so far this year with his blind faith in Valencia and his insistence of playing Antonio at right back. Both bizarre and costly.....

Tonight's result stings and should serve as an embarrassment to all at the club... I expect to see a much better effort on Sunday.

It'll be interesting to see if Bilic will give Fletcher a run of starts up front, he's our best option right now.

Calleri was shit to the nth degree, like Valencia having a low self esteem day

Re: Sullivan and Bilic
Why did Billic take Calleri off?
Has great movement and though he missed a couple again I was sure he would put one away eventually.

Fucking shit night.
How the fuck have we lost to them again and not beaten them over 4 games now?

The squad looks thin and unprepared still.
Sullivan and Billic have list the plot.

Trying to find a positive from the result, it shows how much work is undoubtedly needed to be able to compete on a European level, not just beating the likes of Watford domestically each season and finishing mid-table.

I hope Bilic with the support of the owners can get us to that level.

I wish someone had told me we weren't bothering tonight, I'd have stayed at home.

Great post, agree with every word of it.

Re: Sullivan and Bilic
One thing I will say is that if I didn't know that team was from Romania and judged it on merit they are far more experienced as a team than we were!

They were patient and played to their strengths. They took their chances when they came up. All hallmarks of a team that knows how to win things even if it is at a shit level.

We didn't even manage a goal in open play for both legs!

Our second/third team, as well paid as they are have no experience of winning anything and just don't know how to manage a game like this. Bilic would do well this season to work out how to get the best out of our second string players. No point in having them if they can't step up and do a half decent job.

Anyone excusing what went on tonight, especially first half needs to have a word with themselves.

Re: Sullivan and Bilic

To be honest I thought we were better last season against this mob, we threw away the 1st Leg and the 2nd Leg we only narrowly lost with a side that was not much than a Development Team.

This season we probably had stronger teams on paper out for both legs and judged on their league form Astra are not in the greatest of shape right now.

Injuries have of course hit us but in truth having spent £45m on the squad this summer we should have expected to be seeing a side capable of beating Astra tonight that the club (be that Sullivan and Bilic) deserve any criticism or mocking that comes their way after that defeat much more than they did 12 months ago.

Re: Sullivan and Bilic
If you mean we aren't good enough to compete in the group stage and it not affect our league position, then I understand - If we aren't capable of beating shit like Astra we might as well give up. We spend so much more money on players than them it's humiliating getting turned over by them TWICE.

Fulham went to a final and finished in the top ten not so long ago and we can't even get out of the qualifiers whilst our owners are talking about wanting to win the league in the future!

It's pathetic.

I meant the depth. Obviously our players are better.

Re: Sullivan and Bilic
Our squad not good enough to compete with Astra?

Maybe we can buy a few more 10m to 20m players and one day we might be able to compete with the romanian giants.

FMOB. Some people will excuse the club of anything.

Re: Sullivan and Bilic
We were much worse in Europe last season and that turned out ok, so how about everyone calm down a little. We still don't really have the squad to compete in the PL and the Europa.

The shit you read on here, honestly. Some of you lot need a holiday.

Re: Sullivan and Bilic
There's something odd going on at Astra - yes, they are having a shit domestic season, but they are the reigning champions.

I find it hard to believe it's just down to their manager being banned from the touchline domestically, but not internationally.

Since April we have gone from a possible top four finish and CL football, to no European football at all 2 games into our next season.

Bottlejob cunts.

Sullivan and Bilic aside, I heard Gold on Talkshite this morning saying all the right things with Brazil licking his arse. Pity about the non-delivery.

I bet he is being tucked up in bed with his coco by his servant as i type.

Cunts the lot of them!!!

tunwhu 1:05 Fri Aug 26
Re: Sullivan and Bilic
After 5 games this lot are 4th from bottom of the Romanian league with a goal difference of -6. They were beaten 5-1 by the team below them on Sunday.

They are shit, we lost to them. If that is not a massive wake up call I don't know what is.

The players looked like they had been given a free pass to the next round in the first half and then proved they are simply not good enough in the second.

I know we've got injuries but that is no excuse against a piss pot team for the second year on the trot.

Re: Sullivan and Bilic
Why should we have a tough season ahead? The move? Do me a favour, decent players will perform over Hackney marshes. I've heard a lot about a 'transitional season'. Bullshit, we need to be doing as well or if not better than last season, otherwise we are just going backwards. I'm sure that the wasn't the game plan moving into this stadium.

ATBOG 12:46 Fri Aug 26
Re: Sullivan and Bilic
The real problem now is keeping the squad together. Dimitri will be having his ears chewed off about how he deserves better than what we can offer. If he decides to go then the squad is going to be like a house of cards unless we're in the mix for the league come January, and that's highly unlikely from what I've seen so far this season.
